This is the first part in a series we're calling "Overheard in Charlotte."
Kate recently heard a conversation that went something like this:
Lady 1: So I went to this consignment store, and they had the BEST deals--you would not believe it!
Lady 2: Oh really? Where was it?
Lady 1: In South Charlotte. Check this out: I bought a pair of jeans--JEANS--for $50. And a Kate Spade purse for only $50. So I literally walked out of the store with a pair of jeans and a purse for $100. I feel like I need to go back and apologize.
Really? Kate and I can't ever remember paying that much for any pair of jeans... Welcome to Charlotte--the New South.
